About the event

A Walk Down Memory Lane

We are celebrating!

This coming Friday will mark the 1-year Anniversary of [inn]space.  We opened our doors (officially) on October 19th, 2017.

As this milestone quickly approaches, I have been taking frequent walks down memory lane.  Sometimes it’s easy to get caught up in the day to day and I often forget how fast and far the [inn] has come over the past 12 months.

About 11 ½ months ago, if memory serves, I posted a list of the amazing businesses that helped us launch this vision.  Problem being, I only had about 20 “followers” then and about half were family and friends!  So I’d like to try it again!

If you are looking for local companies for residential or commercial renovations/upgrades, look no further.  I highly recommend everyone on this list.  If you would like to check out their work/product, stop by anytime!  Who knows, you might find an office along the way……. 😉

Renovations

KAPA Plumbing

Keith from KAPA (named after his beauty of a family) always goes above and beyond for his clients.  He is one of the most dependable tradespeople I’ve dealt with, ever.

Stetson Electric

While transforming 30 Quarry Ridge in to the [inn], there was a ton of adjustments to be made with outlets, power supplies, etc.  It was not a small job.   Not to mention all the fab new lights I had them place – The Ridge Room fixture alone took TWO days to install, balance, and then square up.  Totally worth it though!  Right Joaquin?

Terry Newman

There are a lot of “painters” to be found.  What is a bit harder to find is an experienced painter whose attention to detail results in a meticulous finish.  There will not be a scuff or pop as far as the eye can see.

Decor

Newmarket Office Furniture

I honestly went to at least 6 different companies before finding NOF.  As soon as I met Josh and Bob I knew they were our guys.  They were honest, professional and made the entire process feel like a collaboration instead of a direct sale.

Structube Barrie

There are a few stores in Barrie that I’ve spent countless hours loitering in; Structube in Park Place is one of them.  The staff is knowledgeable and consistent. The layout is airy and inspiring.  Check it out.

Bouclair

This gem is an underdog (my opinion only!) for a furniture destination.  Home décor, absolutely.  But Bouclair in South Barrie is a must-stop for trendy pieces at a price point that is super competitive.  Our lobby chairs here at the [inn] are a Bouclair find and it wouldn’t feel the same without them.

Tech

Lake Country Office Solutions

We wavered between two companies when it came to our copier needs.  So glad we ended up going with Lake Country.  Rob and Aaron are top notch; truly.  The service levels and transparency at this company are what sets them apart.

Norcom

There could be an entirely new blog post dedicated to our appreciation of Glenn at Norcom.  I had the choice of going with one of the major companies for all our IP phone needs.  At the end of the day, I’m so happy I supported local.

Necessities

Servomax

Coffee is a very important part of our every day here at [inn]space.  It was important that we nail this one.  Again, lots of options, but we wanted a reliable, smaller scale, customizable system that was eco-friendly and affordable.  Servomax, a local supplier, matched us with our beloved Nespresso Machine.  The variety of pods offered and the terracycling program make every cup as enjoyable as possible.

Sparkle Cleaning

We are picky when it comes to cleanliness here. Dawn and Verna at Sparkle Cleaning are out of their league!  They take pride in their properties and keep the lines of communication constantly open if there are ever concerns.

Visuals

Georgian Copy & Print Centre

There was a point last fall when I was a regular over at Georgian Copy; it seemed I was always picking up something!  Working in this industry, attention to detail is key.  Ali and his team worked with me and my designer every step of the way.  The additional customer service did not go unnoticed!

The Design Hub

Speaking of design, Jacquie, from The Design Hub is one of my most valued collaborators.  She is the mastermind behind our logo, website and most of our promo material.  She is patient (important!), meticulous and creative.  We had a conversation recently about what comes first, the brand or the logo?  I commented that for me, the whole thing really came together when I saw MY logo in the options she sent me .  Everything just clicked.  And it’s been like that with her ever since.

Signz N Designz

Aside from all of our awesome decals and details inside of the space, Rob from Signz N’ Designz really has impressed me while designing our exterior pylon sign (installation is coming soon!).  I had a budget, and a specific vision; two things that don’t always align.  Rob’s innovative approach is making my sign dreams come true.  Well, hopefully.  I haven’t seen it yet.  I’m sure it will be great ;).

Thank You word cloud heart

I am grateful for everyone listed here.  It has been a transformative first year.  I can’t wait to continue our user-led evolution of the [inn] with you all in my corner.

Thank you
